This is the most AMAZING organization!!!! I’ve watched the legacy closet from the beginning and I’ve also been a volunteer. Some of these reviews are despicable. Margie and her team work endlessly to help everyone in the community. I have first hand seen the abuse towards Margie and her volunteers by people that don’t get what they want. I’m glad the closet has boundaries in place because what they put up with shouldn’t be tolerated. They give so freely and are making an incredible impact in the community. ALL VOLUNTEERS AND ALL FREE!!! What an amazing organization! Keep up the great work Legacy Closet!

I want to THANK my Margie girl! She made it her business to help me when I came in without an appointment for a few items. She was swarmed and still found a way to assist. She is absolutely amazing and I will forever donate and or assist with making sure others contribute to the cause. You never know when it’ll be you who stands in the need of help❤️❤️❤️

Margi the director gives so much into this community. I have been a volunteer at the Margate location and the work done is incredible. These reviews are disturbing because they are obviously from people that didn't get what they want. Margi is one of the most generous and kind people you could ever come across. I'm glad she has rules because people try an get over on the kindness of others. Margi keep doing good work and ignore the entitled people.

This is an exploitative organization. First of all, Margi is extremely nasty to disabled people. I remember when I went to a distribution where boxes were on the floor and she claimed I was taking “too long” mind you, bending down is extremely hazardous for me, almost falling over. No assistance was ever offered. Then, when I asked for a disability friendly mop, she said I don’t even know what that is and you can’t be picky. Why am I going to bother asking for a mop I physically can’t use? Their Facebook website is a joke, it seems that the same people comment on items over and over, probably reselling items (how many strollers can one person need?) it is no way monitored for abuse.
What really bothers me is the amount of clout Margie uses. Recently, she helped a disabled veteran, but do you really have to photograph it every step away? organization shows no respect for basic human dignity ,more so Margie as most of the volunteers I have encountered are helpful. The Director has an extensive background as well, further questioning the integrity of the program. As for someone who has a history of domestic abuse as she does, she really lacks empathy for other women enduring abuse and if she does, it comes with a clout price.

Edit: I’m unsure who you are addressing, as my name is Anna. Secondly, I’m not sure how I have caused “problems” during distribution as I only went to one. I really don’t believe that me having a disability and needing to take a bit of extra time to look through an item is problematic, if you have the correct person in mind. However, that suffices as an iota of evidence that you were inconvenienced by a disabled person, if this is an accurate recollection. I am allowed to bring up how I feel that his photos were used in excess, and, I still stand by that. Please take this only as a form of constructive criticism from someone who has tried to get help in the past, that is all. If you were approachable, I would have spoken to you directly versus posting the review.

Great resource for families in need. The volunteers work hard in serving the community with food, clothing, hygiene products, baby items, toys and more, while valuing and respecting each person who walks through their doors, and giving them hope. Wonderful asset to the community

The Director/ Owner is extremely rude, I’m not sure exactly why she had a attitude but I’m a new mother looking for help during pregnancy & received a referral from my case worker & basically she refused to service me. I wouldn’t recommend this organization to anyone, unless you want to be treated with disrespect.
