Impressive institution. Amongst the top ranked in Florida and currently top 4 in the nation amongst public institutions ( according to the WSJ). Walking around and talking to students and faculty they really focus on rewarding the right behavior, like price reductions for volunteer work, getting a first aid certifications , etc. Lots of art around the campus. Lots of activities and thought out support programs - the likes I have not seen anywhere else.

Great university. There can be some improvement in the communications between students and staff regarding events (particularly graduation) and more informed staff on campus, as when I had numerous questions I was never able to find anyone on site that was able to assist me (and getting someone on the phone for information was equally as difficult). With that being said, the staff and administrative teams are kind and flexible. I enjoyed all of my courses and found them to be challenging yet exciting. I have visited the campuses and they are beautiful and well-maintained. I was very happy with my experience as a student here and am excited to re-enroll to continue my graduation there.

This is an awesome public School. The curriculum is great . The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The dorms and class rooms are nice and clean. Opportunity for improvement is improve the dorm meeting situation. Tiamiami Hall has kitchens but no cafeteria. My son is a junior transfer and was able to stay at Tiamiami hall. It is an absolutely beautiful dormatory. Unfortunately for his senior year, they have been told that they will not be able to stay at this nice dorm. They are offering dorm to new only. It's a bit disappointing.

Cal Sable

Beautiful and relaxing place, with beautiful architecture. As a University of course, it is way overpriced, and this place is limited in their way of thinking, in my opinion. But all universities are like that. Make sure that money is not a problem if you come here, but for what this place is (a commuter school that replaces UF and UM), it gets the job done. This is a great University to live around, and much more affordable than UM. Otherwise just skip college, but if you intend to go to one, this place is great overall.

Went here for my bachelor's degree and lived on campus for 2 years.

Please cut back on the gas leafblowers every morning. The are very loud, I don't mind some leaves on the sidewalk, even as someone who skateboards. Leaves are good habitat for beneficial insects and hold in moisture for plants.

Also, housing's decision to prioritize student dorms for freshman has devastated so many people that I know. It may cause some of them to be unable to graduate since living on campus is the only option they can afford to be able to attend their in-person classes.

Please increase the wages for student employees, especially grad students. Minimum wage is disrespectful and many students need to pay bills but only have that limited salary.

FIU Modesto Maidique campus is extremely big, you could definitely get lost even if you’ve been there before or if you’re a current student. FIU’s main campus has different places and areas you could go to depending on what your goal is. Restaurant and food related, there are two Starbucks, subway, pollo tropical, chili’s, chick fil a and plenty of other restaurants and coffee shops. The library has 7 floors, including quiet study floors and some classrooms. There’s also a game room, a gym, and an auditorium.
