Sure the wait can be exhausting for those of us that aren’t able to get an appointment right away ( that’s why I can’t give it 5 stars). However, the amount of people that show up unprepared for their appointments is astonishing! Most are like lost puppies. Then they start getting upset at the people that work there because they’re not getting what they want! All this impacts lost time for everyone.

I arrived today (as a walk in) at 6am and left at 11:15am. I stood outside for 3.5 hours. There were about 80 people in front of me when I arrived. The officer that worked the door was constantly telling everyone..”make sure you have your documents” and “if you don’t have proper documentation you will be sent home…”

There were people that showed up at 8:30AM and were trying to cut in the appointment line!! They were yelled at by security and instead of just leaving they made a scene. Again- nothing to do with the people that work at the DMV.

There were about 2-3 fights between adults People trying to skip lines or just being nasty.

Once I made it inside the building, I was relieved by the cold AC and scared by the voice of the manager lol. She is indeed very direct and authoritative (not so friendly) but she is making sure the place is running properly and fast.
You’ll hear her also yell and remind everyone about their documents but this time there’s a security that asks to see your documents before they give you a number. That’s when some of the people will get upset because they just realized that they came unprepared.

I waited 1.5 hours inside remember, they have to attend to their scheduled appointments too. There are 16 DMV officer desks that are servicing people so the line moves along quite organized thanks to the manager lol.

Lesson learned, go online and look at all the document requirements that you need for your service and just bring them all. If you have to second guess it… just bring it just in case.

Schedule an appointment if possible or end up like I did and waste 5 hours. Show up early 5-6AM. Take an umbrella and a few snacks and you’ll survive. Most importantly, take your documents and be patient.

here is an updated review. If you want to get in with no appointment you have to camp out starting at 2 am, they dont open doors till 9am. Not everyone in that line will be seen. The organization they have is beyond disrespectful to us a civilians. Every single person in that office is extremly rude, mean and has a horrible attitude. They do not care to help. They will talk to you really nasty as well. Something needs to be done. When I recently went I lined up at 2 am and around 8 am everyine start cutting the line and pushing, I almost had an anxiety attack from being pushed into a wall by over 20 people.

BEST DMV IN MIAMI, FL.. Hands down! I’ve come into this DMV countless times as a WALK IN and ALWAYS received services rather I had to return or was able to complete everything on the spot.

Don’t believe the negative reviews. #1, you DO need to be up there and in line BY 6:30-7am if you want to be seen as a walkin. Keep in mind they do have to service and prioritize appointments too. But today they took OVER 100 walkins and had us ALL out by 11am. They must have a new Supervisor cause they did their thing today. The system they have in place literally keeps you up and moving. I went to station 14 and she was very pleasant and professional. So was the cashier. If you have all the paperwork you need, the fee amounts due, AND ARRIVE IN TIME TO BE SEEN, everything will flow smoothly. Unlike the other locations especially Kendall, I hate them folks in Kendall.

Everyone has to wait outside in the heat. My daughter went for her driving exam and I went with her with my toddler son. My daughter got to go inside and me and the 3 year had to wait outside in 90+ degree weather. On top of that it took just over three hours even though we had an appointment

There is much to say, so let's start with the unprofessional treatment given by the people assigned to manage the outside line. I witnessed them providing incorrect immigration information to people from other nationalities and turning away disabled veterans from entering. Additionally, the unprofessional decor, the lack of care for the facility's exterior and interior image, and the demeaning treatment given to people seeking emergency assistance are all concerning. Bottom line: if you can avoid visiting this location, do so, to send a clear message that we, the taxpayers, deserve better. Being mistreated should not be the norm.
